- Reviewed in the United States on January 7, 2025I absolutely love this audiobook! "Emotional Intelligence 2.0" is engaging and highly informative, making it a must-read for anyone looking to understand and improve their emotional intelligence. The authors do an excellent job of breaking down complex concepts into simple, actionable strategies that are easy to implement daily. The self-assessment tool included in the book is a fantastic resource for pinpointing strengths and areas for growth.
What sets this book apart is its practical focus—it doesn’t just tell you what emotional intelligence is but also shows you how to develop it step-by-step. Whether you want to improve relationships, enhance workplace communication, or achieve personal growth, this book offers invaluable insights and tools. It’s a well-structured guide that keeps you hooked from start to finish. Highly recommended for anyone seeking to thrive personally and professionally!
- Reviewed in the United States on July 7, 2024Included with the book is a helpful assessment for the reader to first understand their own level of emotional intelligence. This sets the foundation for the reader to understand the book’s four primary primary principles: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship management. Understanding and applying these principles can help the reader communicate and develop meaningful relationships at work, with family, and in social environments. I found the book to be rich with insights and practical take aways and would recommend it to the Amazon community.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 8, 2024I got, and finished, this book in two days. I initially ordered it as a book to be read for work but found it to be an absolutely easy read that has changed the way I think about my everyday actions.
First, I completed the EQ test/survey that's included with the book, which gave me my EQ scores in the 4 areas this book covers: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship management. This is the hard pill... if you're honest, I think you'll be surprised at how low some of these might be. While I found the test a bit short to give me a wholistic score like it did, it did at least give me the motivation to read about how I can improve.
The book then breaks down each section, and talks about how to identify short-comings, how to think about each these categories, and gives a ton of thoughtful advice.
While I initially picked this up as a requirement for my sales job, I'll be recommending it to anyone I know starting a career and trying to move up the ladder - the book goes into great detail on how important EQ is in all aspects of life, but definitely has a focus on career success.
Highly recommend, I only wish it was longer!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 20, 2015I really wish I had read this book in high school and better yet had a course in it. It would have saved me a lot of grief. As a society, we need to teach children how to deal with emotions. I wish I had not taken it out of the library because the code in the back only works for one person. So, I was not able to take the EQ (Emotional Intelligence)test. I may need to buy the book.
I loved it all, but I have picked out my favorite parts of each section:
Self Awareness Strategies:
1. Ask others for feedback about how you handle your emotions and listen carefully to what they say.
2. Weekly or bi-weekly take stock of your life and write down situations that you didn't deal with well and then list which quality that you wanted to honor but didn't. For example:
Honesty is the quality and then write down a situation that I didn't handle well where I wasn't completely honest. The next time a situation like this comes up, I might deal with it differently because I will remember the list.
Self Management Strategies:
1. To prepare for change, make a list of things in my life that could possibly change and write down ideas for how I could deal with that. I really enjoyed doing this and it really has been helpful.
Social Awareness Strategies:
1. Become a great observer. Learn how to sense the mood of a room and check to see if your observations are correct.
1. Listen. Listen. Listen. Don't interrupt.
Relationship Management Strategies:
1. Use these phrases more: "I am sorry." "Please" "Thank You"
Fabulous book. I highly recommend it.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 19, 2024I’ve had this book for a few months now and finally got around to read within a few days . The information in this book is the foundation to self control , emotional management , and the ability to manage relationships. I am a 24 year old women who rarely felt negative emotions and spent majority of my childhood either content or happy (which I am thankful for ), so you could imagine how now being an adult my emotional control of emotions outside of that is very under developed . I am beyond grateful to come across this book and ready to implement the exercises in this book. it’s time to put in the work! 10/10 recommend .
- Reviewed in the United States on January 11, 2024The book is short, which could be a good thing for some, but I found that it was lacking depth. Definitely business focused so it reads like emotional intelligence is for being more productive at work with little attention given to EQ in the context of your personal life. The Emotional Intelligence test that is included with the book is a self assessment test that is short and the questions are very transparent like "Do you think about others when making decisions?" And you rate yourself from "Never" to "Always". I recommend Daniel Goleman's Emotional Intelligence over this book. It's more dense but it has the depth that the topic deserves.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 7, 2024I discovered aspects of my personality I should be working on. Very helpful and thought-provoking. I am likely to continue to revisit it in the future.

Emotional Intelligence 2.0 was a game-changer for me, especially during a tough time after the loss of a loved one and while facing challenges as a manager. The practical strategies helped me better understand and manage my emotions, which in turn improved how I dealt with stress and led my team. The book’s approach to breaking down emotional intelligence into actionable steps made it easy to apply in both personal and professional situations. 5.0 out of 5 stars Great book
Many times I have thought what a person makes more likeable than others, but as well as other factor to close deals or be more symphatetic with other people. Sor far, I am enjoying the book so much and learning loads from my own decisions and the way I am thinking during conflicts or situations. Worth the read

Tendo tido a oportunidade de escutar num voo da Ethiopian Airways sobre Emotional Inteligence 2.0, pedi o livro. Realmente muito interessante.
