Spend It! (A Moneybunny Book) Hardcover – Picture Book, March 5, 2019
Purchase options and add-ons
Sonny gets three whole carrots a week for his allowance and wants to buy everything with it! But he soon discovers his money won't go that far, and his mom tells him he needs to make some choices. That doesn't sound like much fun to Sonny, especially when he learns that the bouncy castle he's been eyeing goes for ONE HUNDRED carrots. Ridiculous! But eventually, after a little math and a little more thinking, he has a blast discovering what's really important to him and worth spending his carrots on.

“The text is presented in a childlike, penciled handwriting, and the bright, energetic illustrations convey the action and add to the sense of story and character. A welcome story about smart spending.”—School Library Journal

- Reviewed in the United States on June 29, 2024This whole series is a must when teaching Needs vs Wants. There isn’t a lot of text, making it a good choice for K-2 read alouds. The pictures are colorful and clear, and the book is not oversized which makes it easier to hold when reading to a class. This book, along with the others in the series, were greatly enjoyed in my wife’s Kindergarten classroom this year.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 23, 2023All the books in this series are great. Excellent learning tool for children.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 16, 2019What I like most about this book is how relatable the bunny is... how my kids see themselves in him whenever we go to the toy store and why they cannot possibly buy everything. For some reason, they would listen to the bunnies in the books, but our teachings to them fall on deaf ears.... I guess we should learn to be more creative in communicating with them :)
(hhmmm.. I guess money bunny is teaching the parents as well).... Love the book!

- Reviewed in the United States on May 24, 2021My kids absolutely loved the story. They got this in their asked from the Easter bunny.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 15, 2025My 7 year old received this book free from Dolly Parton and loves the book so much that I'm buying the other books! We read it every night, it's such a cute story!

He is teaching a money unit.
This book fits very well.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 31, 2020It certainly conveys the most basic concept of spending money, but has so minimal an ethical platform that my daughter threw it in a goodwill bag rather than read to my granddaughter. I gave it 2 stars because the illustrations were not offensive.
