Why "A" Students Work for "C" Students and Why "B" Students Work for the Government: Rich Dad's Guide to Financial Education for Parents Kindle Edition

4.6 out of 5 stars 560 ratings

Kiyosaki expands on his belief that the school system was created to churn out 'Es' / Employees... those "A Students" who read well, memorize well and test well... and not the creative thinkers, visionaries and dreamers –entrepreneurs-in-the-making... those "C Students who grow up to be the innovators and creators of new ideas, businesses, applications and products.

The book urges parents not to be obsessed with their kids' "letter grades" ("good grades" might only mean they or the student themselves were successful in jamming a square peg into a round hole...) and focus, instead, on concepts, ideas, and helping their child find their true genius, their special gift. The path they can pursue with a love and true passion.

Robert showcases success stories of "C Students" who grew up to be phenomenal successes – and HIRED those "A Students"(attorneys, accountants, and other school-smart specialists) to work in their businesses... while the more average students, "B Students," often find themselves in government-type jobs...

Not surprisingly, Kiyosaki will coin his own definitions of what "A," "B," and "C" stand for as he gives parents and their children bits of wisdom as well as insights and tools for navigating an ever-changing world... an Information Age world where the ability to change and adapt, understand relationships, and anticipate the future will shape their lives.

Robert Kiyosaki, author of Rich Dad Poor Dad - the international runaway bestseller that has held a top spot on the New York Times bestsellers list for over six years - is an investor, entrepreneur and educator whose perspectives on money and investing fly in the face of conventional wisdom. He has, virtually single-handedly, challenged and changed the way tens of millions, around the world, think about money. In communicating his point of view on why 'old' advice - get a good job, save money, get out of debt, invest for the long term, and diversify - is 'bad' (both obsolete and flawed) advice, Robert has earned a reputation for straight talk, irreverence and courage.Rich Dad Poor Dad ranks as the longest-running bestseller on all four of the lists that report to Publisher's Weekly - The New York Times, Business Week, The Wall Street Journal and USA Today - and was named "USA Today's #1 Money Book" two years in a row. It is the third longest-running 'how-to' best seller of all time.Translated into 51 languages and available in 109 countries, the Rich Dad series has sold over 27 million copies worldwide and has dominated best sellers lists across Asia, Australia, South America, Mexico and Europe. In 2005, Robert was inducted into Amazon.com Hall of Fame as one of that bookseller's Top 25 Authors. There are currently 26 books in the Rich Dad series. In 2006 Robert teamed up with Donald Trump to co-author Why We Want You To Be Rich - Two Men - One Message. It debuted at #1 on The New York Times bestsellers list.Robert writes a bi-weekly column - 'Why the Rich Are Getting Richer' - for Yahoo! Finance and a monthly column titled 'Rich Returns' for Entrepreneur magazine.Prior to writing Rich Dad Poor Dad, Robert created the educational board game CASHFLOW 101 to teach individuals the financial and investment strategies that his rich dad spent years teaching him. It was those same strategies that allowed Robert to retire at age 47.Today there are more that 2,100 CASHFLOW Clubs - game groups independent of the Rich Dad Company - in cities throughout the world.Born and raised in Hawaii, Robert Kiyosaki is a fourth-generation Japanese-American. After graduating from college in New York, Robert joined the Marine Corps and served in Vietnam as an officer and helicopter gunship pilot. Following the war, Robert went to work in sales for Xerox Corporation and, in 1977, started a company that brought the first nylon and Velcro 'surfer wallets' to market. He founded an international education company in 1985 that taught business and investing to tens of thousands of students throughout the world. In 1994 Robert sold his business and, through his investments, was able to retire at the age of 47. During his short-lived retirement he wrote Rich Dad Poor Dad.

It is true that majority of financial wisdoms Robert shared in the book
were already discussed in his previous books.
But the real question is whether you understand it and apply it to your real life.

If your answer is no, this book is a great source for your and your children's bright future.
    Chapter 18 is especially inspirational.
He gave us a couple of stories on how he has achieved infinity return,
in his words, "printed his own money".

In addition, the fact that he described the same financial concepts as in his
precious work does not necessarily mean that this book is just another book.
Firstly, his consistency in financial tips proves that that is how he has operated
and succeeded almost 20 years since he first published "Rich Dad Poor Dad."
Secondly, as Rich Dad mentioned that repetition is an important learning process.
Repetition for sure helps us to understand more about how Rich Dad views money.
Even subtle difference in explanation of financial concepts gave me great insights.

What distinguishes this book from others are 1. Deeper analysis on how current
economy and educational industry work 2. Great tips on how parents teach money
    to their children.

I believe that Robert presents this as a textbook. "I am a teacher," he stated
in the book. The book also has 8 "lesson" chapters. In the end of each lesson chapter,
he illustrated actionable items for parents. According to his analysis, it would take
50 years to transform existing education industry. He knows that he may not be
able to transform education industry while he is still alive.
I think that Robert put this great textbook together in order for parents to better
raise children without waiting for education industry to change.
No wonder he dedicated 2 years to write this book.

None of the lessons in this book is currently taught at school.
You as parents are responsible for teaching these important 8 lessons to your children.

Love Roberts books and how he relates them to easy understandable language. With having the 1st of 4 kids heading to college I have been immersing myself into the knowledge I need as a parent to help guide them to be successful in whatever that might be. As a parent it is EXTREMLY hard to get your child to think differently about not being an employee. The whole school system is working hard to make sure that they do become employees. My son wants to become a history teacher, and with the current situation and uncertainty about teachers, it really worries me. I then remember in Roberts teachings that your job is your income and investing is your wealth. I have had great success in sharing that thought process with my son. He likes nice things and has a great work ethic so thanks to ALL of Roberts great teachings I see a great future for him.

I am so glad that you wrote this book so my wife can be on board with me as shes reading this now. My wife feels there's security in a job. Shes always been an employee, and thinks thats the right thing to do. It's taken alot of time and effort even through our many successes of owning businesses and rental real estate. She does finally see the rewards from the effort. Also she has had alot of friends whom can't find work even after getting college degrees. Alot of her co-workers have $10's of thousands of college debt making only $12-14 an hour, because thats all they can get. I am so glad that you help guide and educate us that there is another way. Financial education is so important for the world right now with everything thats going on. Please keep the books coming as I am one of your biggest fans...

I've read all of the books by Kiyosaki. This is the best for content as it reviews all of his other books information. Just buy this book and pass on ALL his other ones, it'll save you some money. I read one of the other reviews and it mentioned he needed to get a better proof reader. I thought maybe the reviewer was just picky, but after reading this book I know what they mean. Misspelled words, missing words, etc. Lost count after 10 mistakes. Worst book for mistakes I've ever read. The content is good, so I'd recommend it. I hope Robert Kiyosaki reads this review and corrects the errors. Nothing worse than reading a good book with lots of errors.

Financial Education at home is a headstart to financial success by using your financial intelligence and by increasing your emotional intelligence and your emotional maturity. Emotional intelligence was also known as success intelligence without this you will not have emotional maturity back by the book of Donald J. Trump and Robert T. Kiyosaki of Midas Touch. You may learn what is all about by taxes, who is the reason why debt in America was $16.5 Trillion to tell you it was because of TARP(Troubled Asset Reform Program) and guess who is that President. I give you a clue he was a Republican. You will also know the life stages of a person and the Big Guerilla that all people in America is a baby boomers growing old and closely to retiree. Many of us has a mentality of entitlement such as the Poor Program such as Social Security, Medicare, 401(k), etc. I started but not often at the end of the book Rich Dad Journal it is a great way to write it is privately yours and it is your decision to share on others. If you love to write a book this will be great way to start even there is a doll times at each moment of your life.

Kiyosaka has written a revealing book about how finance works in the real world, from ordinary working people to big business. He encourages people to become entrepreneurs and to get out of the 'rat race', and gives a fresh perspective on why schools fail many children by guiding them towards a life of reliance on the state. He deliberately repeats himself so these concepts sink in. A great book for anyone wishing to go it alone, and a useful resource for parents to pass on to their children.

5.0 out of 5 stars Superbe !

I've read Rich Dad Poor Dad years ago and this book is great to bring back the Kiyosaki feel in a modern book which addresses current issues. He mentions Obama and how the education system has set future kids up to be poor. I'm trying to become more of an avid reader and reading Rich Dad again would not have worked for me. This was a great way to hear Kiyosaki's voice again without going through some old news.
