    Have you noticed a run on books, Kathleen?

    Our church recommended this study for our small group. It look intriguing. I bought 6 books. Now, I also am going through the study with my sister, her daughter and my two sons, so 4 more books. (and her husband, who was reluctant at first, has been meeting with us). My husband told his co-worker about the study, who bought workbooks for his family. And now my husband's boss is planning on doing the study at his work. Plus my sister bought the workbook for her son in Hawaii for Christmas. And I am starting another study with my brother & his wife in January.

    Why?

    I just got off the phone with my son with one of the best conversations I have ever had with him, and we both agreed that this study/workbook has been a life changer. It has changed how we relate to each other and the words we use. We both agree, it is so much easier to destroy and tear down than to build up. Encouraging takes work and tools; this study provides amazing tools. He has already been putting it into practice. As have I.

    I cannot rave enough about this workbook/study! It has made me (a red) step back and assess "why I am getting so angry about this?" And realize the reason why. So I am able to self-talk to my needs.

    It also is helpful in my relationships. I have been building better relationships with my co-workers, husband, and family; because I am learning to speak to their needs and meet them where they are.

    My regret is that I did not learn this sooner. I realized my 3 sons were entirely different coming out of the womb - now I know why: Green, red, blue. Now I know the words to speak into each of their hearts to build them up and what to avoid. I just wished I had learned this all earlier.

    Our words have power; we can choose to make them life-affirming. This definitely shows you how.

    This book has helped us so much! It is religious based, so do not buy it if you are not religious. The workbook pairs amazing with the free online videos and the quiz is in the book.     This workbook goes with the Youtube Video that discuss I Said This, You Heard That. The series is to teach you to recognize one of four types of personalities or a combination of the the personalities. Depending on your own personality, you can perceive a statement from a person di fferently than another person hearing the same statement but with a different personality. It helps you understand the differences and also how to respond. My thoughts is you really need to do this series more than once since it is hard to understand the different personallities and how to learn how respond. I guess practice make perfect in this case.

    I’m so thrilled this study is available for everyone to learn about the temperaments. I actually had the privilege of hearing Kathleen Edelman speak on this subject several years ago. Instantly I knew it was an answered prayer.

    Understanding our natural wiring (strengths, weaknesses, and innate needs) was a complete game changer! Through the temperaments we learned not just how to communicate with each other (and those around us), we also learned how to be true who God created us to be, and to stand firm in that truth. I shutter to think of the direction my marriage and kids would have walked if we had never learned about the temperaments. My husband and I no longer just talk at each other, we talk with one another. Our understanding of the temperaments not only 100% strengthened our marriage, it has transformed us as parents. With our triplets each having a different temperament, life was bumpy to say the least. Armed with the knowledge of how God wired them has helped us to "grow them up in the way they should go." Seeing each of them lean into who the are so fully and confidently is more then we could have ever dared to imagine, and I am positive it would not have happened without them understanding their own wiring as well.

    Now with our kids going about to go into high school this study coming out couldn’t be better timing. We are going through it as a family, looking at it with fresh eyes, and getting an even better understanding of the effects our words have on ourselves and others.

    The information in is book is life changing in the best way. To say I recommend this study is an understatement. If you’re looking to improve your relationships, whether it’s personal or professional, this is the resource you are looking for!
