The book is very useful for us. it contains all the necessary requirements and standards for water and wastewater analyses. it details why each step is necessaty and what are the impacts if the same if they are not observed. With this we can now proceed with the company's goal of pursuing with our ISO 17025 certification and thereby ensure that the quality of the water we serve our public are always safe and potable. we are also guaranteed of the accuracy of our wastewater quality. I will suggest that all water service providers in the Philippines secure a copy of this book as part of the Water Safety Plan, a requirement of our Phil National Standards for Drinking Water and Chapter 4 of The WHO Water Quality Guidelines.

Very good book! IF you work with water quality, it is a must have book. It is really an excellent reference book, not really for teaching.
But if you work in a laboratory, it is very good!

This revised reference assists in the sampling and analysis of water and wastewater for both the regulator and analytical lab. Sampling protocol, holding times, and various requirements of sampling wastewater are provided.

This book fills in the gaps left by most reference documents supplied with testing equipment. Each test type starts off with a general discussion and works through the apparatus setup, reagents, procedure, troubleshooting, calculation, and precision and bias. Ample tables are provided in each section, making it easy to lookup values used in the calculations. For further study, references and a bibliography are provided for each test method. This book is therefore not only a broad technical reference, but one that is as easy to use as a technical reference can be.

... because it's a huge book and I haven't had the time to read it yet, so I will review the service of Amazon. I received the book in brand new condition, very well packed. My only problem was concerning the time of delivery of more than 2 months. I know I'm overseas (Brazil), but I use to buy things in USA and receive them in 2 weeks by USPS.

This book is an essential part of water and wastewater treatment. It contains so much technical information and has been helpful on a number of occasions.

The "Standard Methods" is very well understood even for those in the non-Chemistry area that deals with environmental chemistry/geochemistry of natural waters. Besides the analytical work, many important aspects related to sampling and data interpretation are there. The 2005 Edition makes these tasks much easier.
